Friday, December 24:  Christmas Eve

The nativity story is our story, too.  We need a place to welcome and shelter us as we look to find our place in the world.  We seek a star to follow, a light to guide us through the shadows.  We crave the angel’s reassurance, “Do not be afraid.”  The nativity story is our story, too, and so, on this Christmas Day, we proclaim the good news of great joy.  Jesus Christ is born: Emmanuel, God-with-us, our Saviour, the Messiah.  Hallelujah. Jesus Christ is born!

Gill Le Fevre, Walton Memorial U.C., Oakville, Ont.

May the gifts of Christmas extend all through the year.  May we share the gifts of Christmas in how we live and be with others.  May God bless you and keep you.  Go in the peace of Christ, always travelling in the light.
